1) Who this policy applies to
This Privacy Policy explains how Cippo Team ("Cippo", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Cippo mobile application (the "App") and related services (collectively, the "Services").
The Services are intended for people aged 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at mewuybcqjz9897@outlook.com.
2) Information we collect
A. Information you provide
- Account information: name, username, email address.
- Customer support: the content of messages you send to us, and any information you choose to share.
- Content you choose to submit: images you upload for plant identification and optional text you provide.
B. Information collected automatically
- Device information: device model, operating system version, language, time zone, app version, and device identifiers (as provided by your device).
- Usage data: feature usage, screens viewed, interaction events, and performance metrics.
- Crash and diagnostic data: crash logs and error reports.
C. Location (only if you allow)
If you enable location permissions, we may collect your precise or approximate location depending on the permission you grant and your device settings. You can disable location collection at any time in your device settings.
D. Cookies, similar technologies, and web beacons (where applicable)
If parts of the Services are delivered via web-based components (for example, embedded web views for sign-in or settings), we may use cookies or similar technologies (which may include web beacons) to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure performance.
E. Photos / face data
- No facial recognition / biometrics: we do not perform facial recognition and do not create biometric identifiers.
- One-time processing: if you upload an image, it is processed one time to produce the result you request.
- Deletion: uploaded images are deleted immediately after processing is completed.
- Local by default: saved results and collections are typically stored on your device; certain information may also be associated with your account to provide the Services.
- No training / marketing use: we do not use your uploaded images for model training, marketing, or advertising.
3) How we use information
We use information to provide, maintain, and improve the Services, including to:
- Provide core features (such as identifying flowers and plants from photos or uploads, showing results, and saving discoveries in collections)
- Create and manage accounts and authenticate login
- Personalize your experience (such as organizing discoveries and preferences)
- Improve reliability, performance, and user experience (including debugging and analytics)
- Protect security, prevent fraud, and enforce our terms
- Respond to customer support requests
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights
We do not sell your personal information.
4) AI-assisted plant identification (optional, if you choose to upload content)
Cippo uses automated image and/or text analysis (including machine-learning techniques) to provide identification results and related details when you upload an image or enter text.
If you choose to use these features:
- Processing location: any images or text you choose to upload are processed on servers operated by Cippo Team (our own servers).
- No third-party sharing: we do not share your AI inputs or AI outputs with any third parties.
- Deletion: AI inputs (such as uploaded images or text) are deleted immediately after processing is completed.
- User control: you control whether to upload content and whether to generate results.
- No training / marketing use: we do not use AI inputs/outputs to train models or for marketing/advertising.
If you do not upload content, these features do not process your images/text.
5) Legal bases (for certain jurisdictions)
Where required by applicable law (such as the GDPR), we process personal information under one or more of these legal bases: performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent (for optional features such as location where required), and compliance with legal obligations.
7) International data transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent mechanisms for cross-border transfers.
8) Data retention
We retain information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law.
- Account information: while your account is active.
- After account deletion: deleted or anonymized within 30 days (subject to legal/security needs).
- Usage data: up to 12 months.
- Support content: up to 6 months after the support case closes.
- Location data: only while needed for the purpose you enabled and as permitted by your settings.
- AI processing inputs (if used): deleted immediately after processing completes.
9) Security
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest (where appropriate), access controls, periodic audits, and backups. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
10) Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent. To exercise your rights, email us at mewuybcqjz9897@outlook.com.
We will respond within 5 business days where feasible and as required by applicable law. We may verify your identity.
11) Do Not Track
Your device or browser may provide a "Do Not Track" setting. Because there is no consistent industry standard, the Services may not respond to Do Not Track signals in a uniform way.
12) Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice within the App or by other reasonable means. The effective date above indicates when this policy takes effect.
13) Governing law and disputes
To the extent permitted by law, this Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the principal place of business of Cippo Team. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration unless applicable law provides otherwise.
